A Taste of

Ursula's Spaghetti Sauce

Ursula's Spaghetti Sauce

My siblings and I refer to this recipe as "Mom's spaghetti," and it's a favorite in all of our families. Easy and delicious, it's perfect for a school-night supper.

Ingredients:

1 onion, finely minced
¼ pound deli-sliced black forest ham (the ham should be sliced thinly, as if for sandwiches, and then diced into small squares).
32 ounce can petite diced tomatoes
3/4 cup heavy cream
Kosher salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil to garnish

Instructions:

In a medium saucepan, combine minced onion, ham and tomatoes. Bring to a boil and allow the mixture to simmer for at least an hour. Add kosher salt and pepper to taste, and just before serving, mix in 3/4 cup of heavy cream. Ladle over pasta, and garnish with fresh Parmesan cheese and basil.
