Ribbon Clips

I have yards and yards of ribbon--satin, grosgrain, patterned and plain. I use it for my daughters' hair, wrapping packages and embellishing crafts and sewing projects. This means I also have assorted leftovers that are too long to throw away but are a hassle to store.

My very creative friend Heidi Green suggested this inexpensive and effective solution, and I was sold. The only necessary supplies are clothespins (I know, we feature them a lot at Store & Style) and a few apothecary jars.

Simply hold a clothespin open, and secure the ribbon around one side by wrapping it tightly several times. Continue this process until the ribbon is completely wound around the clothespin, then allow the clothespin to close. The spring will keep the ribbon attached (also, it won't get crumpled).

Drop the clothespins into clear containers, sorted by color. Several jars arranged together make a decorative display. I used antique mason jars I'd purchased at a yard sale. When you need a bit to tie around a bun or for a gift, you'll know just where to find it.
